Rey Mysterio is arguably the greatest big little man to grace a wrestling ring. Mysterio stands at 5 ft 6 inches tall and he has weighed 175 pounds for the majority of his career. Mysterio has had a fantastic career in both WWE and WCW where he has won several major championships. A three-time WWE World Champion, a WWE Hall of Famer, and winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship with his son Dominik are some of his proudest achievements.

His first appearance was in 2011 with Alberto Del Rio winning the match for the WWE Championship contract. Mysterio dropped the World Heavyweight Title to Kane via a Money in the Bank cash-in, five months prior and he was looking to reclaim the Big Gold Belt.

This was Mysterio’s first and only TLC match to date and he had a good outing here. Unfortunately for Mysterio, he was unable to win the match as an emotional Edge clinched his 10th World Championship reign in a match that he is a master at.

Mysterio only competed in two King of the Ring tournaments in his career and he was winless in the tournament. His first appearance was in 2010 but he lost to Cody Rhodes in the opening round. 11 years later, Mysterio lost to Sami Zayn at the first hurdle in the quarterfinals.

Arguably, the cruiserweight division in WCW in the ’90s was the strongest in the world. Mysterio, Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho, and Eddie Guerrero were some of the names who had successful runs in the WCW Cruiserweight Championship title picture.

Mysterio clinched the WCW Cruiserweight Championship five times and he won the WCW Tag Team Championship three times and the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship once. Headlining WrestleMania is one of the biggest accomplishments that someone could achieve in their WWE career. However, Rey Mysterio is in a group of former World Champions who have never main evented WrestleMania.

Mysterio’s had many memorable WrestleMania moments, but a main event at the Show of Shows was something that Mysterio failed to achieve.
