Jake Paul, who secured a first-round TKO victory over Ryan Bourland in the co-main event, stood by Serrano’s side to address the disappointed crowd and shed light on the situation.

“I know there’s people booing, but Amanda came to fight, put in a hard camp and the doctors wouldn’t let her move forward because of her eye,” he said. “Her cornea was exposed and she was failing some eye tests. She did everything to make it happen and this happened super, super last minute.”

During the post-event press conference, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP, disclosed that Amanda Serrano encountered an unexpected mishap. Bidarian explained that Serrano had her hair styled on Thursday night and while out running on Friday, a chemical inadvertently got into her eye.

Despite arriving at the arena on Saturday night fully committed to competing, Serrano was ultimately deemed unfit to participate in the bout.

‘The Problem Child’ Continues To Call Out The Mexican Star

Jake Paul expressed his desire to fight Canelo Alvarez after knocking out Ryan Bourland: “Canelo, stop ducking, I know you want it. I’m repping Puerto Rico, you’re repping Mexico, so it’s Mexico vs Puerto Rico. I want Canelo. I’m the face of this sport. Who’s doing more for boxing than me?”

Alvarez previously dismissed Paul as a serious opponent and currently has no interest in fighting him. Paul compete at cruiserweight and while Alvarez has expressed desire in the past to fight in the weight class, it will likely be for a world title fight rather than to fight Paul.
