While speaking on WWE After the Bell, Rhea Ripley expressed her belief that she and Charlotte proved why they deserved to main event Night One of Wrestlemania after all. Fightful has provided the following transcript:

Coming out of that match, I felt like we stole the show. I feel like we went out and left everything we had in the ring and showed everyone exactly why we should have been in the main event venue. Yeah, we didn’t have a good constitution like Sami, Owens and the Usos; At the same time, Charlotte and I, every time we get in the ring, we bring the brutality, we bring the ferocity when we come out and just beat each other to death. All the compliments we got made me happy and proud that we went out and beat each other up and we loved it. It’s a strange feeling. I get it, I get it.

The main event spot on the first night of Wrestlemania 39 was given to The Usos, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. This decision upset some WWE fans who believed that each main event spot should be awarded to that year’s Royal Rumble winners. However, WWE’s decision to have the Undisputed Tag Team Championship match take the place of the main event is understandable considering the amount of publicity that surrounded it.
