On July 2, Robert De Niro’s grandson was discovered dead in his New York City apartment. His absence was noticed by a friend who hadn’t heard from him in several days and decided to go check on him. It was during this visit that his lifeless body was found, with drugs nearby.
Initially, the cause of death was unknown. However, a few days later, Leandro’s mother took to her Instagram account and revealed that the fentanyl pills were responsible for the tragic death of her son. She wrote: “Someone sold it [Leandro] pills laced with fentanyl that they knew were laced and still sold them.” In the heartfelt message from him, he added: “So to all these people who keep buying and selling this s**t, my son is gone forever.” His name is Drena.
The 19-year-old was an aspiring actor who made his Hollywood breakthrough in the 2018 film “A Star Is Born,” directed by Bradley Cooper. Leandro also had a role in the 2018 drama “Cabaret Maxime.”
