Florence Pugh And Cillian Murphy Encounter Technical Glitch During ‘Oppenheimer’ Intimate Scene

During a recent panel discussion hosted by Universal, actress Florence Pugh revealed an unexpected hiccup that occurred while filming a pivotal s*x scene for the movie “Oppenheimer.”

“In the middle of our s*x scene, the camera broke,” Pugh disclosed to the audience. “No one knows this, but it did. Our camera broke when we were both naked, and it was not ideal timing.”

Pugh portrays Jean Tatlock in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” a character engaged in a relationship with Murphy’s titular protagonist, both before and during his marriage to Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer, played by Emily Blunt.

Sharing the awkward moment on set, Pugh described the scene: “Cillian and I are in this room together. It’s a closed set, so we’re both holding our bodies like this,” she said, wrapping her arms around herself.

When a technician arrived to address the camera malfunction, Pugh seized the opportunity to learn more about the equipment. “So tell me, what’s wrong with this camera?” she quizzed the technician amidst the unexpected interruption.

As the audience chuckled at her anecdote, Pugh emphasized the professionalism and expertise of Christopher Nolan’s production team. “Every person on this set was so knowledgeable and was so ready to make this kind of movie that there was no dull moment,” she praised. “It felt like we were lucky to be there every second of the day.”

Despite the technical glitch, Pugh’s behind-the-scenes story offers a glimpse into the challenges and camaraderie experienced during the making of Oppenheimer.
