Red Table Talk has been canceled as Facebook Watch ends its original programming. The show is a Facebook Watch show where the perspectives of three different generations on a wide variety of topics are understood. However, a variety of reports confirmed Thursday that the original series will not be coming to the platform as Meta stops producing original programming, news that Deadline previously reported.
Red Table Talk is a Facebook Watch show hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith with her mother and daughter. It was first launched on Facebook in May 2018, where they candidly discussed her health issues and life at home. The trio in the back welcome each guest in each episode and share about their lives.
Meta’s Red Table Talk was cancelled, the View Original Composite Facebook group was canceled, and the CEO left the tech company. Mina Lefevre, head of Meta’s original collection group, is moving away from expensive original programming, focusing on the holistic development of Meta Horizon World into a giant virtual universe.
Jada Pinkett Smith posted on her official Instagram account: “We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful partnership with Facebook Watch and are sorry to see the entire team disbanded.” and she added: “We wish them all the best in their new journeys to come.”
Pinkett concluded: “We at Red Table are in talks to find a new home and we’ll see you soon.”
