Championships are what the majority of wrestlers aspire to win when they get into the professional wrestling business. Women’s wrestling has been overlooked for many years, but since the introduction of the women’s evolution in 2015, women are no longer viewed as a laughing stock. Long championship reigns can sometimes bore wrestling fans if they are not booked correctly. However, there have been several women who have managed to elevate championships with long championship reigns, and it’s a big deal when they have dropped their championship.

Months later, Rousey had her eyes on the Raw Women’s Championship and she overpowered Alexa Bliss to win her first singles championship in WWE, the Raw Women’s Championship.

Rousey improved inside the squared circle, and she had some fantastic title defenses. Her match with Sasha Banks at the 2019 Royal Rumble over the title was an exceptional bout. Rousey’s title reign was ended by Becky Lynch in a triple threat match that included Charlotte Flair in the first women’s WrestleMania main event at WrestleMania 35 in a Winner Takes All match for both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships.

The Ninth Wonder of the World unsuccessfully challenged Ivory for the Women’s Championship at the 2001 Royal Rumble. In a title rematch, Chyna dethroned Ivory for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 17 in a squash match. Chyna was undefeated as the Women’s Champion in her 231-day reign as champion, and her final match in a WWE ring was a superb championship match against Lita at Judgment Day 2001 before she left WWE due to contract issues.

However, Paige’s 273-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion ended when Paige won the WWE Divas Championship from AJ Lee on the Raw after WrestleMania 30 and later vacated her NXT Championship.

However, she unexpectedly relinquished the title in May 2020 as she announced that she was pregnant with her first child, bringing a halt to her reign to 398 days, which is the second-longest reign in the history of the Raw Women’s Championship.

Nevertheless, Roxanne Perez dethroned her on the December 13, 2022 edition of NXT and Rose shortly left WWE afterward.

Belair feuded with Bayley over the Raw Women’s Championship and they contested the first-ever women’s ladder match to take place on the main roster and a Last Woman Standing match which Belair won. She made history as the first black wrestler, male or female to hold a World Championship for over 200 days which is a superb achievement. Ultimately, she broke Lynch’s record as the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion at 420 days with her record run curtailed by Asuka at Night of Champions 2023.

Meiko Satomura is one of the most talented in-ring performers that WWE has at its disposal. Satomura ended Kay Lee Ray’s record-breaking NXT UK Women’s Championship reign on the June 10, 2021, broadcast of NXT in the UK.

The COVID-19 pandemic hampered the production of NXT UK but Satomura proved to be a fighting champion. She successfully retained the championship nine times and she was champion for 451 days. However, she lost the championship to the NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose in a triple threat title unification match that also included Blair Davenport.
