NXT Vengeance Day 2024 Guide: Match Card, Predictions

UPDATE: 2024/02/02 11:53 EST BY JOSH COULSON

The Dusty Classic and a no DQ match between Dijak and Joe Gacy have been added to this weekend’s card.

NXT kicks off its 2024 premium live event calendar with Vengeance Day. The spiritual successor to WWE’s Vengeance which debuted in 2001 but was scrapped entirely from the main roster in 2011. Another decade later, the PLE name was dusted off and turned into Vengeance Day. Returning for the fourth event in as many years, it is now an NXT staple, and below you’ll find everything you’ll need to know about this year’s installment.

When Is NXT Vengeance Day 2024?

NXT hops between midweek and weekends for its big shows. However, since Vengeance Day is a PLE, not just a themed edition of NXT’s regular weekly show, it will be taking place on the weekend. On February 4, 2024, to be exact. A Sunday as NXT’s PLEs have not made the permanent shift to Saturdays like the main roster shows. The main card will begin at 8 pm EST, or you can tune in an hour earlier to catch the kickoff show.

Joaquin Wilde Goes Viral For Literally Flying Through The Air On NXT

Wilde got some serious air with the help of his teammates on NXT this week.

How Can I Watch NXT Vengeance Day 2024?

Where you can watch WWE programming will change a lot later this year and at the beginning of 2025, but for now, nothing has changed. All of NXT’s PLEs will continue to air live on Peacock for fans in the US, and through the WWE Network or whichever platform carries WWE programming in your part of the world, so that’s where you’ll need to go to watch Vengeance Day live.

Where Is NXT Vengeance Day 2024 Taking Place?

A combination of the pandemic and the black and gold era coming to an end led to NXT staying in Florida for quite a while. Things have since returned to normal and this (mostly) fresh crop of Superstars is on the road. Vengeance Day in Clarksville’s F&M Bank Arena, making it the first time a live televised NXT event has ever taken place in Tennessee.

Ilja Dragunov vs. Trick Williams

Trick’s Shot At The World Title

After Trick Williams’ ascent through the ranks in NXT, and accusations that Ilja Dragunov was the man who attacked him, the young upstart will finally get his shot at Vengeance Day. A match that should have kicked off the year, the champ has finally been medically cleared to defend his title.

Williams has star written all over him, and if I thought Dragunov’s main roster call-up was imminent, he’d be my pick to win this one. Vengeance Day won’t be Williams’ moment though, but I do think it’s coming, probably sooner than most people think.

Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams

Double Duty for Trick

bron breakker and baron corbin vs trick williams and carmelo hayes

Trick Williams is going to have a very busy night this Saturday, not only challenging for the NXT Title, but also competing in the men’s Dusty Classic. He and Carmelo Hayes will be taking on Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin in the final.

Now we have a complete picture of what Williams’ night will look like at Vengeance Day, my guess is that he and Hayes lose this match and Hayes blames Williams for it. Claiming he held back to save himself for the title match and potentially even costing him the win in the main event.

Lyra Valkyria vs. Roxanne Perez

A Fighting Champion Against A Fighting Challenger

Lyra Valkyria has been a fighting champion since beating Becky Lynch for the NXT Women’s Title. Roxanne Perez is a fighter herself though, enduring quite the battle to get this title shot. Something’s got to give though when the pair clash with the title on the line at Vengeance Day.

Much like Cora Jade before her knee injury, Perez feels a little like she’s in limbo at the moment. Done everything in NXT but isn’t being called up for some reason. I still think a full-time gig on the main roster is imminent, and for that reason I see Valkyria retaining in this one.

Oba Femi vs. Dragon Lee

Lee Gets His North American Title Rematch

Dragon Lee was quite the North American Champion. However, even he couldn’t prepare for the cashing in of the Men’s Breakout Tournament contract, effectively NXT’s Money in the Bank. Oba Femi took his chance, but since that win, he’s been unwilling to defend his newly won gold.

Femi has finally been worn down enough that he has agreed to give Lee the rematch he deserves at Vengeance Day. I don’t think this will be a happy ending for Lee, but I do think Femi uses underhanded tactics to make sure his title reign continues.

The Family vs. OTM

The Family Together For The First Time Ever

the family vs otm at nxt vengeance day

Hard to believe, but all three members of The Family have never competed in the same match together. That would require mixed tag action, and that’s exactly what we’re getting at Vengeance Day. The titles won’t be on the line, but there will be some serious bragging rights up for grabs when The Family clashes with OTM.

Since the gold isn’t on the line, and this rivalry will almost certainly continue until it is, my guess is OTM wins this one. Jaida Parker to get the win by pinning Adrianna Rizzo, and a future title shot for OTM off the back of it.

Dijak vs. Joe Gacy

No Rules For These Two Unhinged Superstars

Two men desperate to ascend the ranks in NXT, at Vengeance Day, they will have the chance. The pair clashed on the go-home show for this PLE but it quickly descended into chaos. Refusing to admit defeat, a beaten-down Gacy emerged later in the night and accepted Dijak’s challenge.

There will be no disqualifications in this match which means both men can do whatever they like. Fitting for the pair’s personas. It has felt like WWE has been high on Gacy in the past, and this may well be the platform on which they can relaunch him by giving him the win.
