When wrestlers reach a certain age, a lot of people just presume that they opt to hang up their boots because the business is so physically demanding. While certain legends such as Ric Flair can have high-profile matches on the independent scene, there are plenty of older wrestlers that still compete on smaller independent shows.

Because many of those shows are only seen by those in attendance, the fact that the wrestlers are still competing is something that many fans aren’t aware of. However, the fact that people continue working until an older age showcases their determination to keep entertaining people.

Professional wrestling is unique to other sports in many different ways. That is especially true when it comes to retirement. Some big names, such as Christian Cage, Adam Copeland, Saraya, and Bryan Danielson, have gotten back into the ring after being told they were done. Some, however, have kept on going. While some don’t have the same in-ring skills as they did decades ago, others have continued to get better with age. And many of them you may still be surprised to see are still lacing their boots and getting into the squared circle.
