The Vince McMahon lawsuit that rocked the WWE in early 2024 continues to make headlines. More and more voices are being heard regarding the controversial issue, including from wrestlers both past and present. The latest to offer his comments is 14-time WWE World Champion and locker room leader, Randy Orton.

Randy Orton Takes Cautious Approach To The Allegations, But Is Ultimately Heartbroken

Randy Orton recently sat down for a few interviews where he was asked about a number of topics, including the Vince McMahon allegations. In a telephone conversation with the New York Post, Orton stated how he didn’t want to believe the horrible things that he had read online about the man who had given him so much. He said:

“So part of me wants to not believe it and then the other part of me understands that he could have done all these wonderful things for me and the business and created this amazing thing that will go on and on well after he’s gone, but on the other hand he’s human and he made some f—– terrible mistakes.”

Orton continued:

“There’s three sides to every story. Their side, the other side and then the truth. I think a lot more has to come out before I can really speak on any of this. I think that would be the case for any talent that you ask, but I do know about Vince McMahon the man that I’ve known for the past 24 years personally and I owe him for everything he’s done for me.”

It’s not hard to see Orton’s point-of-view, especially when it comes to someone he owes his career to. However, he did acknowledge how horrible the allegations are:

“But if these allegations are true, then it’s some horrible s— right there. I’m torn. It’s hard.”

Sitting down with Sports Illustrated, Orton re-iterated those sentiments, stating how heartbroken he was about the whole situation:

What you’ve seen and read, I’ve seen and read. As far as commenting on that, it f—— hurts my heart. It hurts my heart.”
