UFC Hall of Famer and former WWE Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey made an unexpected appearance at Friday’s AEW/ROH tapings. The appearance has caught a ton of attention and sparked intense speculation about her future in professional wrestling.

In tapings that took place after AEW Collision and Ramage on Friday night, Rousey wrestled alongside her longtime friend Marina Shafir in a tag team match against ROH Women’s Champion Athena and Billie Starkz. Social media went nuts showing video of her entrance at the show and the ROH crowd legitimately surprised at her appearance.

The unexpected events of the night continued when it was revealed that Rousey’s Ring of Honor TV debut is set to air on the upcoming episode of “ROH on HonorClub” scheduled for Thanksgiving Day. Rousey’s involvement in the match is a big deal for Ring of Honor and it should be sure to draw in fans and viewers. How many may determine her future with the company.

As you can hear in the video above, she made her way to the ring backed the Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation.”, the same song she used in WWE.

Tony Khan took to Twitter, expressing the crowd’s reaction with “Justified ‘Holy s**t!’ chants for @ringofhonor,” acknowledging the excitement generated by Rousey’s unexpected appearance. He didn’t use her name so as not to spoil the surprise, but anyone following closely wouldn’t have a hard time putting the dots together. Word had leaked prior to the appearance that she might show up. She was seen backstage with the AEW crew and her subsequent in-ring action has fueled speculation about potential future collaborations with AEW or ROH.

While no official contract details have been disclosed, Rousey’s surprise debut has only intensified rumors that she might be the highly anticipated free agent announcement at Full Gear on Saturday. Should she not be Tony’s big tease announcement, that means AEW has potentially signed two very big names in the wrestling world to be part of the AEW or ROH roster.

This Could Be A Limited Time Thing

Because Rousey has hinted that she’s not done with wrestling but doesn’t seem to want a full-time gig, there’s every chance this is limited run kind of thing. The segment concluded as a failed attack by Athena ended up with Rousey teasing Athena with the ROH championship. It felt like the promotion was setting the stage for a potential singles match at the upcoming Final Battle PPV next month.
