Seth Rollins kicked off this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw and it was scheduled that he would reveal to the WWE Universe the status of his knee injury and whether he’d be out long-term. With concern that he might miss WrestleMania 40 after suffering an injur his last week’s match with Jinder Mahal, Rollins says nothing is going to keep him from defending his title.
An emotional Rollins came to the ring to talk to the fans, walking everyone through exactly what happened to his knee. Saying he went for a moonsault like he does in almost all of his matches, he noticed right away that something was wrong with his knee. He said it bent in a way that it wasn’t supposed to. He did what he does, which was finish the match, but sitting backstage, he realized that he could be out for a significant amount of time. It donned on him that it was a very real possibility he could miss WrestleMania.

Seth Rollins took some time to talk to Sports Illustrated and explained his issues with CM Punk and why he was upset at Survivor Series.
He told fans that he needed to wait for an MRI and that he had a Grade 2 torn MCL and a partially torn meniscus, that with surgery, could keep him out 2-4 months. Noting that if it were up to him he would be out next week defending the title, it’s not exactly up to him. Surprisingly, Gunther and Imperium then interrupted. They came to the ring and Gunther gave Rollins props for being a fighting champion. He hinted that it was too bad Rollins would miss WrestleMania 40. Rollins then said, “You should have let me finish.”
Noting that nothing was going to keep him from the biggest show of the year, he didn’t care what the doctors said. He was going to rehab or do whatever he needed to in order to make it. That made Gunther happy, as he said he was going to win the Royal Rumble and then challenge Rollins. He noted that he would target his knee and his back and not feel bad about it. Rollins warned Gunther to be careful who he was coming after. Gunther warned Rollins to be aware of who was coming after him.
Rollins Is Going to WrestleMania 40
Time will tell if Rollins will be able to rehab in time for the Showcase of the Immortals. One would have to think WWE wouldn’t allow him to say he was going to be there if there was a chance he couldn’t. The hope is that this is just how WWE is creatively keeping Rollins from wrestling until then.
