Jon Stewart, an American comedian and political commentator, is back to his television show, “The Daily Show”. Jon Stevert once hosted the show for a long time, almost 16 years, and he left the show in 2015. Now he is back with his unbeatable hosting skills after 8 years. But there is a little twist.
We won’t be able to see Jon for the entire week. Jon will work as a part-time host for “The Daily Show”. During the US Presidential election period from February till November, Jon will have one episode per week on Monday night. He has one more responsibility as an executive producer of the show. On the remaining days, Desi Lydic, Michael Kosta, and Ronny Chieng will handle the show as a host. People say that Jon Stewart’s return is to save Comedy Central as it struggles to get viewership.
Many praised Stewart’s decision to come back. CEO of MTV and Showtime Chris McCarthy lauded him, saying, “Jon Stewart is the voice of our generation, and we are honored to have him return to Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to help us all make sense of the insanity and division roiling the country as we enter the election season.”
When he was asked about the reason behind leaving the show, he said that he wasn’t getting the satisfaction he used to get earlier even though the show was running quite well. Now Comedy Central’s struggle is over and Jon will take the screen with his extraordinary skills.
