Tom Hollander Accidentally Receives Tom Holland’s Seven-Figure Bonus Check For “Avengers” Film

In a humorous turn of events, acclaimed actor Tom Hollander, known for his roles in “The White Lotus” and “The Night Manager,” recently shared an amusing anecdote on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.” The 56-year-old actor disclosed that he mistakenly received a seven-figure bonus check intended for the younger Marvel star, Tom Holland, who is 27 years old.

Hollander, who often finds himself mistaken for Holland in various non-visual contexts, including within the accounts department of his agency, shared the amusing incident during a theater visit in England. Reflecting on the incident, he mentioned, “I sat smugly in the audience just having done a BBC show for $30,000.”

The actor revealed that during the interval, he checked his email and discovered a message from his agency, indicating the dispatch of his “first box-office bonus for ‘The Avengers.’” Despite questioning his involvement in “The Avengers,” Hollander opened the email to find an astonishing seven-figure sum – not Holland’s entire bonus but the first installment.

“It was more money than I’d ever [seen],” Hollander remarked, emphasizing the unexpected windfall. The actor couldn’t help but acknowledge the irony of the situation, especially given Holland’s youth at the time. “He was only 20 or something,” Hollander recalled, adding that his initial “feeling of smugness” quickly dissipated.

Reflecting on the unpredictability of showbiz, Hollander quipped, “But that’s showbiz. It’s up, it’s down, it’s hero, it’s zero.”

Tom Holland has gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man in numerous Marvel blockbusters, including “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

While the exact amount of the bonus check remains undisclosed, it is widely known that Holland has earned substantial sums for his contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, adding an extra layer of humor to this inadvertent financial mix-up.
