Actor Treat William died at the age of 71 in a motorcycle accident. The incident occurred Monday night in Dorset, Vermont. The actor’s family have confirmed the news in a statement, saying it is with great sadness that we report that our beloved Treat Williams passed away tonight in Dorset, Vermont following a fatal motorcycle accident. As you can imagine, we are shocked and very heartbroken at this time. The statement adds, Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and he really was on top of his game in all of it. The family was also asked for privacy.
William began his career in 1975 with his first film appearance in the thriller “Deadly Hero.” He played various roles in films such as The Ritz and The Eagle Has Landed in 1976. He gained recognition for his performance in the 1979 film adaptation of the musical Hair and his role in the television series Everwood.
William is survived by his wife, Pam, and their two children.
