It looks like both Bobby Lashley and LA Knight are off the WrestleMania card considering they’re at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Seemingly confirming that Bobby Lashley will not have a match at this year’s WrestleMania and that his show with Bray Wyatt is cancelled, or at least suspended, WWE announced during Friday’s episode of SmackDown that an Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will take place. the Friday before the night of the Showcase of the Immortals.
As WWE set the stage for the final episode of SmackDown, one that includes a match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa, the announce team announced that Andre the Giant Battle Royal had returned, then showed a screenshot of the many competitors that would be involved in the match. Among the biggest names included were Johnny Gargano, The OC, Dexter Lumis, The Brawling Brutes, Karrion Kross, Baron Corbin and Bronson Reed. Also among the competitors were LA Knight and Bobby Lashley.
What’s intriguing about these two inclusions is the fact that both LA Knight and Lashley have been teased or assigned matches at WrestleMania 39. Knight defeated Rey Mysterio on Friday and has been talking for weeks about how WWE can’t celebrate. a WrestleMania in Hollywood without LA Knight. Meanwhile, Lashley was building a show with Bray Wyatt, which was apparently put on hold when news broke that Wyatt was dealing with health issues. It appears that neither will be at the big show and that Wyatt is also off the WrestleMania card.
Could any make it to WrestleMania?
Just because Lashley and Knight are in Battle Royal doesn’t officially exclude them from participating in Showcase of the Immortals. That being said, they are likely to be in Friday’s match, which means WWE couldn’t figure out a way to get them their own respective matches.
Lashley is likely the favorite to win on Friday and it would be hard to bet against All Mighty when you consider what was originally planned for him.
