WWE Night Of Champions 2023 guide: match card, predictions

WWE has revealed that instead of crowning a new King and Queen of the Ring, he will be reliving Night of Champions. A premium live event concept that has been dormant since before the term premium live event was coined. It seems that decision has a lot to do with the crowning of a new world heavyweight champion, the prize at stake in one of the many matches that will take place when WWE returns to Saudi Arabia this month.

The gimmick previously attached to the Night of Champions name was that every title must be on the line. We’ll know if WWE plans to continue that tradition once the card below is completed. Since Night of Champions will emanate from the Middle East, it will kick off at an unconventional time for fans in the US. The PLE will kick off at 7:30pm local time in Jeddah, i.e. 12:30pm. and everything announced for the show so far can be found below.

Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes

Brock Lesnar attacked Cody Rhodes the night after WrestleMania and we still don’t know why. The two will have a rematch after Rhodes picked up a win over The Beast at Backlash, but hey, at least Lesnar now has a reason to be upset on The American Nightmare.

You’d think after suffering a loss to Rhodes a month earlier that this match would have a Lesnar victory written all over it, but I’m not so sure. The Beast prevented The American Nightmare from progressing in the world title tournament. That makes me think the plan is still for Rhodes to eventually beat Roman Reigns, so in order to keep him strong enough to earn that opportunity, he needs to beat Lesnar here.

Seth Rollins vs. TBD for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Rather than find a way to get one of Reigns’ existing world titles, WWE has decided to throw a third championship into the mix. It is not the most popular decision, but it is happening, so we better join it.

Despite being an exclusive Raw title, the tournament final will pit a SmackDown Superstar against someone from the red brand. Seth Rollins will be representing Raw in this match, and since it’s supposed to be a Raw title, he’s picking it to win even though I don’t know who he’s going up against yet.
