10 WWE Silver ECW Championship

WWE’s redesign of the ECW Championship resulted in one of, if not the worst, ECW belts of all time. “World Titles” are supposed to look grand, prestigious, and most importantly, gold, but this was a big silver monstrosity.

It didn’t hold the character of what ECW was supposed to be, and it didn’t feel like an award anyone really wanted to win. Maybe it had a flaming phoenix or eagle in the middle, though it was pretty indistinguishable. It was clear that no one had properly planned this design with much thought or care. WWE screwed this up like they screwed everything else about ECW.

9 Winged Eagle ECW World Television Championship

You’d be forgiven if you were of a double mind when looking at this title, as it’s essentially the exact design for the WWE Winged Eagle Championship, which is often considered the best design in WWE history.

However, this cheaper version with the ECW logo plastered on the front made it look terrible. It destroyed a classic design and made it look like a cheap new version, because that’s exactly what it was. This somehow lasted two whole years despite being an obvious and blatant copy.

8 First World Extreme Championship Wrestling Title

After ECW went from “Eastern” to “Extreme” came the first “Extreme Championship Wrestling” world title, although it was a pretty mixed bag in terms of design. It was essentially the old belt design but with an ugly red “ECW” plastered across the top.

This pretty much ruined what was otherwise a pretty decent design. The center plate shape was slightly awkwardly shaped with a squashed eagle on top, making it look like a cheap WWE knockoff. There were two variations of this, one with a red ECW logo and one with blue, and each was as ugly as the other.

7 ECW Tag Team Championship Mocks “WWE Style”

The World Television Title wasn’t the only one to copy a WWE belt design as ECW Tag Team Titles also did the exact same thing on this design which lasted from 1997 to 1998.

It is remarkable how obvious a copy it was, but for that reason, once again it looked cheap and seedy, far from the prestige that WWE gold felt. The glaring red lettering of “ECW” was jarring, and while perhaps better than the mock “Winged Eagle,” it was still nothing special.

6 First ECW Tag Team Championships

The first ECW Tag Team Titles had a sleek design that seemed prestigious and important, yet felt in contrast to the wrestling style in the company. Either way, the red banner and red crown were effective in this design, playing a nice contrast to the gold.

Like many other designs on this list, a golden eagle plays front and center. Overall, it was pretty simple and lacked any intricate detail, but it still looked good regardless, and was a cut above WWE’s mock designs.

5 ECW “Steel Cage” Tag Team Championships

The crazy aspect of these ECW Tag Team titles is perhaps the most divisive on this entire list. A flaming wheel around bold red lettering in front of what appears to be a steel cage design is certainly different from everything else in the promo in terms of design, but here’s what made them stand out.

It would be understandable if fans claimed they are an ugly eyesore, but at the same time, it would be understandable if these were a favorite design of all ECW belts. For that reason, it can’t be higher or lower than this: right in the middle.

4 ECW Original World Television Championship

ECW used this television world title design for four years, between 1992 and 1996, and while it was arguably a bit dated at the time and didn’t really fit the style of the promotion, it was still an attractive championship that had a lot of value to it. class

The touch of red at the top of the belt contrasted well with the gold and black, and the eagle in the middle was nice too. It may not have been too flashy, but it was still a simple but effective design.

3 Third and final ECW World Television Championship

The latest design for the ECW World Television Championship was arguably the best for this specific title. Like the other ECW redesigns, this one really encapsulated what the company was all about, with lots of color, the cracked logo, and the unique font.

Some may argue that it looked messy and unprofessional, but in a way that’s what gave it character and charm, making it more of an “ECW” championship rather than a standard image belt that could be used in any other promotion.

2 Second ECW World Championship

This world title redesign helped make the belt appear more legitimate and prestigious. However, aside from the red ECW logo and a globe, there weren’t too many distinguishing features.

However, that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, as simple was better in this case. The size of this title was a positive, and it looked great around the waist of the likes of Raven and Sabu. The contrast of black, gold, and red worked well.

1 Third ECW World Championship

There were multiple variations of this design throughout ECW’s history, with the design remaining in place when the promotion came under WWE ownership. It’s worth grouping the similar designs in this style into one, as they were so close, apart from the odd addition of color.

This was an iconic design, and while it was quite unlike any other title in wrestling, and while some might argue that it was a bit messy, it really captured all that ECW was about: chaos, color, and a rugged style that was still charming. sometimes. When fans think of the world title, this is the one that people remember. Many iconic names held this title, adding to their legacy.
