In the latest episode of the Jim Ross podcast, grilled jr, the longtime wrestling personality recalled how frustrating it was to recruit talent for WWF house show promotions. Randy Savage got particularly fed up with the complicated programming and almost took out his frustrations on Ross. Wrestling News Co. has provided the following transcript:

Big pain in the ass. A magnificent pain in the ass. Randy Savage cornered me one day and I almost wanted to fight because he thought he was taking advantage of his time when it was orders from headquarters that we wanted to use Savage. That’s Vince’s deal, but he didn’t tell Randy, so Randy found out that he was doing some promotions for markets that didn’t even have live events, but I was reporting to the president. Savage had a screw loose anyway. Very talented. Very, very talented. Very unique, but it was very, I won’t say weak. He was unsure as hell.

Ross then discussed commentating alongside Macho Man on Monday Night Raw. He noted that working with Savage “wasn’t easy.”

Working with Savage was not easy. It really wasn’t. Once again, he is paranoid all the time. He didn’t trust anyone. ‘Why did you say that? What did you say? What do you mean by that? Shut up. Damn. He is professional wrestling. Hell, I don’t know what I meant. Do you know what you meant? That was not funny.

Jim Ross now works for AEW as a commentator.
