2023 Grammy Winners Announced!

The 2023 Grammys are here!! After a long wait, today the most prestigious musical awards begin. Many singing legends, budding new singers and bands were seen on the red carpet. Jennifer Lopez was first seen with Ben Affleck after the two got married. Beyonce broke records and Unholy created a new story with singer Kim Petras. The military is rooting for BTS as the k-pop group has made it to the Grammys for the third time and in three categories. I hope they win this time.

Beyonce – Renaissance

Beyoncé has a lot to celebrate after her standout wins at the 2023 Grammys (nearly tied with her husband, JAY-Z) officially breaking the record for most honored artist in Recording Academy history!

Beyoncé took home four awards for Best Electronic/Dance Recording, Best Dance/Electronic Album, Best Traditional R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for her acclaimed album. Renaissance. During her acceptance speech, the icon held back tears as she thanked her parents JAY-Z, her three sons Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter, and her late uncle Jonny for inspiring her latest album.

Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh solo effort and her first since 2016’s Lemonade. She promised the album would be performed as part of a three-part series, though it’s not yet clear what the next two pieces in that series will be.

Beyoncé’s nine nominations at the 2023 Grammy Awards mark the fourth time she has been nominated. She’s also the first black woman to be nominated for Album of the Year… four times. Now, Beyoncé has won a total of 32 Grammy Awards throughout her decades-long career.

Historic victory for Unholy at the 2023 Grammys

Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ sensational song “Unholy” on stage at the 2023 Grammys demonstrated exactly why the song, with a stunning performance, was such an inevitable hit. Smith opened the segment surrounded by a circle of dancers bathed in red light, then donned a pair of devil horns as Petras sang her verse from a cage as a line of fire burned behind her.

The couple took home the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the event, and Petras celebrated in her speech that she was the first transgender artist to win in the category. “This song has been an incredible journey for me and Sam has been there for me for a long time. Sam kindly wanted me to accept this award because I am the first transgender woman to win this award,” Petras said.
