Charlie Puth recently opened up about his girlfriend. The four-time Grammy nominee revealed that he has been in an on-and-off long-term relationship with a woman from his New Jersey hometown of Rumson. The singer also shared that he has a crush on the mysterious lady.
Speaking of his girlfriend, Charlie shared: “[She’s] someone I grew up with. As my life gets more turbulent and I travel everywhere, it’s really nice to have someone close to you who you’ve known for a long time.” Puth added: “She’s always been very, very nice to me and she would assume that when times are inevitably tough in the future because what is life without valleys and peaks? She would be there for me too.”
Meanwhile, when asked if he’s ready to propose, Charlie said that even if he does, the media won’t know. Charlie’s girlfriend will likely attend the opening show of his 12-date One Night Only Tour taking place this Sunday at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, NJ. The One Night Only Tour is in support of Puth’s self-titled third studio album Charlie, which was released on October 7.
Charlie Puth previously confirmed that he was dating singer Charlotte Lawrence on Valentine’s Day in 2019, but their eventual breakup was so bad that it inspired his song That’s Hilarious. Charlie has also admitted to having a short-term relationship with Grammy nominee Selena Gomez, culminating in their 2016 duet We Don’t Talk Anymore. And while Puth once shared a very public kiss with Grammy winner Meghan Trainor onstage during the 2015 American Music Awards.

However, he later confirmed that it was a publicity stunt and that they were just friends. Puth was also rumored to have previously dated Halston Sage (2018-2019), Pritika Swarup (2016-2017), and Madison Reed (2015-2016). “I’m not really interested in going out like I used to and going crazy,” Charlie told Stern. “Honestly, I’m so scared of people now that I can’t walk anywhere for whatever reason. And I think the more that happens, the more I want to retire with someone I’ve known for a long time.”
