WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio transfers to SmackDown from Raw

SmackDown bolstered their roster with the addition of former world champion Rey Mysterio.


The veteran WWE Superstar had his first match on the blue brand in over a year when he defeated Ricochet, Sheamus and Solo Sikoa in a Fatal Four Way to become the number one contender to the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the edition of this week on SmackDown. FOX.

It all happened at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 14. Earlier on the show, Mysterio approached Triple H backstage and gave an emotional speech in which he expressed his desire to leave WWE as a result of his feud with The Judgment. Day, who instigated the breakup of his relationship with his son Dominik.

Triple H was unwilling to let Mysterio go and asked the wrestler to give him a few minutes to think of a solution to Rey’s problems. The two men entered Triple H’s office as the segment drew to a close.

Later in the night, Mysterio participated in the aforementioned Fatal Four Way match, replacing Karrion Kross, who had been involved in a car accident earlier on the show and was subsequently attacked by Drew McIntyre. During the match, SmackDown announcer Michael Cole revealed that Rey had officially been transferred from the Raw roster to the SmackDown roster.

Mysterio was victorious after hitting Ricochet with a 619/Frog Splash combo for 1-2-3, becoming the number one contender to Gunther’s Intercontinental Title in the process.
